Testing CSS--I Need Help! D:

Yeah, I fail at this. Hard. D: Yay for CSS beginner?

Can someone please tell me how to do the header, footer, and how to make backgrounds have gradients and the like? Whenever I try to do it it gets all mixed up. >.<;

o.o Where did the links at the bottom go? D: I put the CSS there. (If you can't comment then PM me.)

I think I'm gonna quit for now so I don't explode from confusion and frustration.
